Pre-graduate Program

The pre-graduate program with Australian Healthcare Alliance is designed to ignite your career and build confidence in your profession through hands-on training that offers industry experience working with real-life clients. Please complete this application form to begin your journey toward a successful and impactful career.

  • The pre-graduate program is open to final-year university students currently studying Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Dietetics, Physiotherapy, or Exercise Physiology.
    Acceptance into the program is subject to availability of a mentor.

  • The program is divided into stages, with progression and duration dependent on successful completion of required competencies. Designed for final year students, participants can remain in the program until graduation, at which point successful candidates will be offered a position.

  • The program is designed to be completely flexible around your availability and university schedule.

    Stage 1: Training

    • Duration: Typically 4-6 weeks, depending on hours of engagement.

    • Content: This stage includes valuable training modules, shadowing a senior clinician, creating and reviewing resources.

    Stage 2: Therapy Assistant

    • Advancement: Upon successfully completing the competencies in Stage 1, students move into a therapy assistant role.

    • Responsibilities: In this role, students see suitable clients as identified by their dedicated mentor and receive 1:1 clinical supervision for support.

    • Stage 1 of the program is an unpaid training period.

    • Stage 2 involves a paid therapy assistant role where you earn 50% of billable hours on paid invoices.

  • AHA currently offers in-clinic, mobile, and Telehealth services. Our therapy team enjoys the freedom to customise their caseload based on their preferred hours, location, areas of clinical interest, and expertise.

    The majority of AHA's clientele consists of NDIS participants, with 80% being paediatric clients and 20% adults.

  • Our pre-graduate program is currently available in Melbourne, based out of our office in Hawthorn East. If you are from another region, we still encourage you to complete the form to express your interest.
